August = C word stock??

 Here are a couple of photo's from last Christmas.  One photo is of the cushions and hot water bottle covers I upcycled from a man's shirt and the other one is of me on my stall at a Christmas Fair.  Yes, you have guessed it I am even blogging about the C word as for us crafter's it is NOW that time when we get our Christmas stock ready.  "Not already? that's early ...!!"  I hear you groan, but in actual fact I am quite late in starting compared to some and I know some makers who work on xmas stuff all year round to keep up with the busiest time of year
You see the dilemma is not only what to make, but also how much to make as you want enough stock but not so much you are left over with loads of it because to keep on trend you cannot reuse all the same Christmas stuff every year   Most makers do have some staple sellers that are always popular of course, but we still have to come up with new things to fire the public's imagination too.  Plus it keeps it interesting for us as well. My motto is "Always more recycling to be done"
This year I am working on some weaving idea's for xmas decorations.  Plus I still want to re use denim jeans again as I find it such a great resource to work with, but I  may adapt only parts of the jeans this year and mix in with other eclectic materials.  So there you go.  Don't know if that is enough to whet your appetite yet but can't give it all away at this stage afterall!! Laters. ..and if you are not in the craft world just keep enjoying the sunshine ....

About Me

I am a keen make do and mender/recycler. I love crocheting too.  I have a "magpie eye" for anything sparkly, vintage or uber-cool!  I love live music, cups of tea ( I am so English!), and a cracking novel to read.
